Velvet's arc is incredibly unfair compared to the rest. She attacks so freaking slow...
I was just thinking about this (for those who're playing Odin Sphere), but am I the only one who gets depressed when playing this game?
Don't get me wrong, I like it, but holy friggin' mother of christ! All of these kids got the short end of the stick and then some!
Gwendolyn's father doesn't love her and she strives to gain it from him by being used and given away. Then forced to marry someone she doesn't like until she figures out that she starts having feelings for him until OHNOES! He believes she's betrayed him and proceeds to be taken into the Netherworld!
Cornelius got turned into a mutant rabbit by his love's twin brother and his father refuses to acknowledge him as he deals with the fact that he'll never become human and be with Velvet, again. Then fights for his father's sake when the extremely suspicious-looking magician betrays the kingdom.
Mercedes seems to have had a good past, but once she becomes queen? She's slapped into reality with betrayals and rebellions. WE'RE NOT MEANT TO STAY HAPPY, KID. IT'S THE WAY OF LIFE
EVERYONE hates Oswald. When he's not being hated, he's being USED. When he's not being used, he's having his wife being kidnapped by everyone. I bet if someone gave this guy a flower or a hug, he'd spontaniously combust.
And Velvet has been cursed to death by her mother in the form of a letter as well as was once a dancer for her grandfather (...whut?) and was punished into submission with a whip. Then said grandfather comes back from the Netherworld and torments her with memories and guilt about allegiance as well as giving her to option of buying his love by giving him a cursed ring because we all know he's good for his word.
...well, at least we have those Pookas and Sheep Plants to make us grin from time to time in the midst of all this. :[
Now that I'm getting closer to the end of Persona 3, everyone in that is getting serious and depressed. *weeps* Where's Bebe, Kenji, and all the misadventures of the main cast when you need 'em?
Maybe I need Katamari or somethin' to even all this angst out. /;
