First attempt at violence and gore. I think I went overboard on the adjectives, maybe...
Title: Throes
Characters/Pairings: James Sunderland
Rating: R
Summary: Another take on James’ first monster encounter.
Warnings: Violence, gore, somewhat spoiler-ish.
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything from Silent Hill; this is just for entertainment.
Side Note: Because of the nature and origin of the monsters in SH2, I twisted the meaning a little bit more to fit the idea. Sorry if it's confusing.
James is at awe by the…thing’s – it is most definitely not human – unnatural appearance.
Scraggly, crooked legs bent in painful ways at the knees and ankles and a swollen armless torso swiveling dangerously atop. There is no face; rather, instead, an imprint behind grayish, veined skin stretching and covering its entire grisly form.
A slick film coats the body that smells strongly of decay and soured milk. However, it’s almost overpowered by the acidic and infectious stench seeping off the black substance – he doesn’t want to know exactly what it is – caked along the monster’s chest cavity and proceeding to drip down its emaciated legs and onto the ground with a disturbing sizzle.
James stares at it in horror and disgust when it cracks and wretches with an agonizing screech, spewing inky black on his face, clothes, and hands. It sears his skin, making it burn and bleed as James desperately shields his eyes.
The creature hacks and hobbles closer in a terrifyingly erotic fashion; twisting and swirling its throbbing torso and neck in obvious bone-breaking movements. The smell of blood and bile permeates the claustrophobic tunnel and soaks James’ burning hair, skin, and coat.
It is stifling. James tastes it and tries swallowing thickly to rid it.
James gropes for a weapon and it stumbles closer. Its walk is strangely like a vile infant – clumsy and awkward, disgusting.
He grabs hold of a broken plank with splinters digging into his palm and holds it ready. A rumbling bubbling sounds with another wail and James strikes.
Again. And again.
The wood connects with every part; bruising the horrendously feminine legs and effectively purees its ‘face’ with puncture holes oozing fresh blood smelling of rotting flesh and infection.
It falls to the ground in a fit of monstrous whimpers and the gurgling sounds of drowning; courtesy of crushing its thin – slender with an oddly familiar curve – neck.
He steps closer towards the carcass. It’s curled and twitching – horrible and nostalgic.
James grimaces at the pathetic sight, but transforms into a twisted smile at its increasing familiarity. He raises his foot and stomps down on the monster’s head and body, crushing it to an unidentifiable mass of dead flesh, old blood, and rotting slush of once-organs.
And James laughs, madly.
---
I kind of want to play Silent Hill 2 again, but I wanna beat some of my other games first rather than replay another.
This was more to satisfy my craving. 8]
By the way, I'd really really appreciate some critique on this piece as this is my first attempt at this kind of material.
