Tales of the Abyss Anthology Scans

Okie dokie, not too long ago, I went out and bought three of the Tales of the Abyss Anthology books. I think it may had been to scan for the heck of it.

But I was afraid of ruining the books when I got them so, aside from random tidbits that really don't count, I never ended up doing it. Dx

Anyway! I finally decided to get up and do what I intended to do. So I have here the covers and some samples of all the books I got. As well as a poll.

My scanner is retarded so it would take forever and a day, probably, to scan all three books entirely. @_@ Plus, I hate the dang thing. It weirded out on me earlier and if I want it to work again, I have to restart my computer. >.< Dang dreck of a scanner!

These are pretty big scans, bewarrrrre!

Some of this book has been scanned already like the mini comic with Asch and Luke at Yulia City. There are still some really cute and funny stories in this one, but focuses more on the main group than anyone else. So if you're looking for Van or the God-Generals, they're not really here.

Remember I said my scanner weirded out? Dx I couldn't get a sample page for this volume so I grabbed one that I did a while back. Jade drinks tea! XDDD

This one has a lot more other characters in the stories, including one with Peony. We've also got some God-General action and Master Van! :DD It's so adorable with Asch giving Arietta a flower. ~~Goddddd, I wish I could read japanese...~~

This one is probably my favorite of all the books. 4-komas are so dang awesome! XD And c'mooooon, there's a Dist fart joke in here, that's an automatic win!

I want to scan one of these for everyone. I'll probably scan the other two at a later time, but this is for now. I'll have the best chance this week since it's Spring Break. So get up and vote, maaaan! :DDD

talesoftheabyss. Whichever anthology you scan, would you be willing to make the scans really huge? Like...1000 pixels wide?

Thanks very much for doing this, by the way. ♥ I know how much of a pain it is to scan stuff--it takes a minute per page with my scanner. ¬_¬; So I feel your pain.

I'll scan them as large as the samples are, but if I can figure out how to change the dimensions to 1000 pixels, then I'd be glad to do it. I'll try fiddling with it, tonight.

There should be a way for you to change the settings on the preview page, before you start scanning. If you're having trouble finding where to do it, maybe you could screencap your preview page and I could try to help you sort it out?

Although, if all else fails, the size you've got the Vol. 1 and 2 sample page scans at seems to be not too bad. I can read the furigana pretty well.

I think I see what you mean, but it never hurts to be safe, right? XD
Scan Resolution
So, I just have to bring that up to a higher number? (probably not too high, these scans already had to be cropped out of the area.)

Actually, the scan resolution is how high of a quality of image you want. The more dots per inch, the better the image looks. I generally scan manga and doujinshi at 300 dpi, just to be safe (some of those kanji can get pretty damn unreadable at anything less).

What you want to do to prevent cropping of areas you don't want is to go where it says Size. Right now, you have the radio button selected that says "Auto-crop the scanned item." If you want more control over what gets cropped and what doesn't, pick "Select area to be scanned," and in the drop-down menu, select what seems best. If there's a custom option provided, pick that.

Oh man, I'd love to see scans of either volume one or two! ~~I'd scan them myself if I just had a scanner~~ But mostly volume one because of that one where Luke is like, working at a store or something and Asch comes in and they have identical reactions... so much lawlz. I love that one XD

Really though, anything you choose to scan would be awesome. So much thanks for even considering it ♥
