There should be a way for you to change the settings on the preview page, before you start scanning. If you're having trouble finding where to do it, maybe you could screencap your preview page and I could try to help you sort it out?

Although, if all else fails, the size you've got the Vol. 1 and 2 sample page scans at seems to be not too bad. I can read the furigana pretty well.
